  3. Fascinating article, have a heard a lot about essential oils but never knew they are used in anti-aging products, always thought they were used only for for aromatherapy purposes. Personally, I don’t like massaging any kind of oil on my face, I used to before, but it always felt like it my skin never absorbed it properly, its why I only use lotion now.

    • You are right.  Everyone has his own preference. Many vegetable-based oils—avocado, jojoba, and almond, for example—mimic the natural lipids found in our skin, which is ideal for a couple reasons. The similarities in structure can help repair and reregulate our skin’s moisture barrier, which is responsible for oil production. Thank you for the encouragement.

  4. I love the title Healthy is The New Wealthy. The one thing I cherish above all is my Health more so now that I am in my twilight years. After putting our bodies through the early rigours of our young lives it is always in hindsight when we realise we have taken our bodies for granted. Sites like yours certainly speaks volumes to the older audience who are always looking at more subtle and organic products to take us gracefully through our finer years.

    • You mean “healthy is the FIRST wealthy”? Yes,  we often appreciate something after the thing disappear for a while. For people over 40 yr old it is important to take care their health more. For people who live in big cities and have the hectic schedule it is difficult to get the “real” foods. There are too many processed foods around us. Fortunately there are many researches and inventions that support the older’s health. It is including the products for the skin care. Thank you for the comment.

  5. Well I’ve just turned 40 and am looking for some ways to regain or keep my skin youthful. Bit of both really. I like using coconut oil and I do know about some of the benefits of those oils. I really like the sounds of frankincense oil. It seems really quite versatile. Can you recommend any good brands for those oils? And any coconut oil will do? I’ve got an organic brand, but I’m guessing there are quite some differences as well…

  6. I have been washing my face with oil for a couple of years now, but I had not considered essential oils because I did not want to sit down and do the research, so thank you for doing that for me!

I do make a point of looking for rose geranium and Ylang Ylang whenever I am at the health food store, but they always seem to be sold out. Can you recommend a reputable manufacturer that I can order from online? Thank you in advance.

  8. I didn’t know there were synthetic oils. That’s a little disheartening. I will be paying better attention because I run them in the diffuser quite a bit! I think I’d like to try Black Pepper (and hurrah for assisting with wrinkles too, big benefit). 🙂

    • You are right, Genny. These carrier oils are a wonderful way to keep our face looking healthy and hydrated. They give our skin exactly what it wants: healthy oils. Natural oils (because they do not contain any added fillers or chemicals) absorb easily into the skin.
