If you are an avid camper, then you must have everything set. And better yet, you have a routine list already. But, for those of you who are new to camping, here are some of the essential things to bring.
The most important thing to have for our camping adventure is a shelter. Shelter from the possible extremes is essential. Even if we are not surrounded by inclement weather, things such as spiders and snakes do exist. The need to protect ourselves from them is important.
A little research goes a long way when first purchasing our tent. Ask your friends and family who have camping experience which brand they use and prefer. Go to many of the different sporting goods stores. Even shop around online a little bit before settling into any one choice.

A great idea is to look into food tents once we have made up our mind which sleeping tent we want. Food tents can protect and preserve food against weather and animals as well. Keeping our food tucked away and far away from our sleeping quarters is an excellent idea.
Select what size and style tent you desire. It is a good idea to buy sleeping bags that are warm and waterproof. Also, think about buying a blow up single mattress for those in your party who do not like “roughing it” as much.
Pillows are another thought for comfortable sleeping. Make certain to take along extra thermal blankets and sleeping bags to cover up in. It can get cold up in many campsites. Especially those surrounded by mountains.
The location of our campsite will dictate how much and what to bring. If we are close to a food supply store, we can pack a little lighter. But, if we are roughing it, we can always bring along canned and dehydrated food in case.

When it comes to camping, the best rule of thumb is to plan, plan, and plan some more. The more we have planned out, the more successful our trip will be.

Make a list of everything we can think of that we will need. Think about sleeping, eating, having fun in the sun, getting wet if there is a lake and so on. This way we will not forget anything.
2. Check Out Nearby Necessities
We may feel uncomfortable with using what you have remembered to bring along. Check the campsite and see how close the nearest general store or food stand is to your site. Besides, you may want to check out the nearest medical facility to ease your mind in case of emergency.
Look into the closest repair shop for your vehicle or camper if you have one. These things may seem trivial, but thinking about them. Make sure you know what you are up against is a wise choice indeed.
3. Focus On the Fun
There is a lot of time, effort, and packing that goes into camping. But, don’t forget to focus on the fun. Look into activities such as kayaking, fishing, rock climbing, and hiking while you are camping.

When gazing at the stars filled sky, the time seems to stop. We can forget all the problems for a while and only enjoy the beautiful star. We can do it every time to be happy with what we have and be grateful. Grateful is the basis of happiness.
